Cyber Wise Families Parent Night – February 9
Dear GCS Parents of 5th–12th Grade Students,
Gaston Christian School is pleased to invite you to a special Cyber Wise Families Parent Night, designed to equip you to better support and protect your students online. This evening will focus on understanding who is on the other end of your child’s digital conversations, protecting minors from online solicitation, and creating a safer online environment for them to enjoy.
Cyber Wise Parent Night will be held on Monday, February 9, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Owens Auditorium on the Gastonia Campus. This event is for parents of students in grades 5–12, and admission is free.
Our guest speaker will be Gastonia Police Detective Tyler Busby, who will share practical guidance, current trends, and safety tips related to students’ online activity. If you have specific questions you would like to direct to him, you may contact him at TYLER.BUSBY@GASTONIANC.GOV.
In addition to the parent session, the school will host assemblies the following day to discuss these same online safety topics with students in grades 5–12. These student assemblies will reinforce the principles shared with parents and encourage wise, safe use of digital platforms.
We hope you will plan to join us for this important and informative evening as we partner to help our students become wise and safe digital citizens.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jonathan Huitt
Associate Head of School
