Happy Arune is a GCS international student from Nigeria, Africa. You might have seen her on campus or the basketball court because her 6’6″ height and bright smile make her hard to miss!  Access to Success (https://a2sfoundation.org/) is the wonderful Christian Foundation that brought Happy over to the USA to study.  They work constantly to break the cycle of poverty in Nigeria giving families and young students opportunities to change their life and community. Their incredible work is a testament to Jesus’ love for all of us.

For the first time in two years, Happy is going home this summer to visit her family and renew her student visa.  She will also be using the opportunity as a mission trip to her community.  Access to Success has camps throughout the summer as a way of spreading the gospel through sports and learning.  During these camp sessions, A2S works to provide as many kids as possible with new athletic shoes.  Happy remembers getting her first pair of basketball shoes and how it changed her life.  Every summer, she would attend the camp and always knew she would get a new pair of shoes so she could continue playing ball and going to school. She describes the day as a 2nd Christmas!

Shoes can be dropped off to Amanda Knight for the high school or middle school or to Denika Alston for the elementary school. Please have all shoes to the school by Friday, 5/10.
