The Major William Chronicle Chapter Announces DAR Good Citizens Award Winner
The Major William Chronicle Chapter is proud to announce that Madyson Johnson has been selected as the 2025–2026 Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizens Program winner.
Mady was chosen by her teachers and classmates to represent Gaston Christian School in the county-level selection process. She was selected from among outstanding candidates representing eight area high schools.
The DAR Good Citizens Award recognizes students who exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. These students demonstrate exceptional commitment to their communities through volunteer work, academics, and extracurricular involvement. As part of the selection process, each candidate submitted an essay addressing a topic related to American heritage and the responsibilities of good citizenship.
Mady will be honored at a luncheon hosted by the Major William Chronicle Chapter, where she will present her winning essay and receive a monetary award. Her essay will now advance to the state-level competition.
