GCS Staff updates for 24-25
One of the most challenging responsibilities that I have is addressing personnel matters. When Dr. Uecker announced that he would be leaving GCS after three years, I prayed, discussed with key administrators, and announced the decision that Dr. Jon Huitt would be our next Associate Head of School. Consequently, after much prayer and discussion, I want to share some changes our administrative team is making moving forward.
For 2024-25, Dr. Huitt will also assume the role of High School Principal. Mrs. Pattiann Rabb will become our Middle School Principal. Ms. Denika Alston will continue as our Elementary Principal. Mrs. Annette Simmons will continue as our Early Childhood Principal. Mrs. Victoria Ahearn will continue as our Principal for our PK-6 East Cleveland Campus in Kings Mountain.
Academic Dean: Dr. Lane Rice, our current Director of Admissions, will add responsibilities as our Academic Dean to support these leaders. This new role will include curriculum development and review, coordinating standardized testing, reviewing the results with administrators and teachers, and evaluating classroom implementation.
Dean of Faculty: Dr. Tina Cook, our current Director of Student Services, will add teacher professional development to her responsibilities. She will collaborate with principals to coach, train, and evaluate our current teachers and be a resource to help them become the best teachers they can be.
Director of New Teacher Development: Mrs. Julie Denham, our current Director of Women’s Ministry and Bible teacher, will add new teacher training to her duties. She will develop an onboarding process with principals to assist teachers stepping into GCS. She will encourage these new teachers throughout their first year, helping them adopt our culture and systems.
These three new roles will support and assist our principals and Dr. Huitt in our growing program.
Please continue to pray for each of them as they seek to honor the Lord in this new chapter of our school.
Respectfully,
Dr. Marc Stout
Head of School
