Dear friends and families of the high school,

I hope you are doing well this Tuesday!

We are thrilled to introduce you to an exciting new chapter in our educational journey: The Winterim. This innovative mini-semester is designed to offer our students alternative and authentic educational experiences, fostering personal growth and academic enrichment in unique and inspiring settings.

Winterim will replace this past year’s field trip week, except that it will take place the last week of February (24-28) to avoid conflicts with sports. Winterim is an alternative to the typical field trips so that a family can make the best decision for their student (price, experience, etc.). Winterim does not replace the senior trip to Disney or the spiritual retreat to Windy Gap. 

Why are we changing to the winterim from the traditional field trip model? 

• We wanted to add more of a spiritual component to our trips; In response to this we have added service trips, we have added more mission trips, and every trip will do a study in scripture or a book study.
• With the prices of everything increasing, we wanted to make sure all our families could choose the trip that best suits their family (the price for trips starts at $0).
• We wanted to increase the opportunities for students to do internships or job shadowing within our programs to help our students see what’s out there.
• We wanted to give the students choices based on their interests and talents.

One note:

The European trip is different! It is open to 9th-12th graders to apply beginning today.  Do not wait until the designated day to apply for this trip.
