Position: After School Care Worker 

Location: Gaston Christian School

Reports To: After School Care Director

Status: Hourly, non-exempt, paid monthly

 

Position Requirements & Conditions of Employment for After-School Care Worker

Basic Requirements:

  1. Must be at least 16 years old 
  2. Good communication skills
  3. Flexibility in working with parents and GCS staff
  4. Able to work independently
  5. Flexibility to incorporate multiple tasks with multiple deadlines
  6. Must be available to work at least 15 hours per week

   Spiritual Requirements:

  1. Demonstrate in speech, actions, and attitude a consistent walk with Jesus Christ as outlined in the GCS Statement of Christian Faith.
  1. Be available always to be used by the Holy Spirit for the spiritual encouragement of students or fellow teachers.
  2. Share the Christian faith with students.
  3. Read and study the Bible on a personal basis throughout the year.
  4. Be faithfully involved in a local church.

Professional Requirements:

  1. Keep accurate records of the arrival and dismissal of students
  2. Maintain a safe atmosphere and environment
  3. Attend teacher planning/faculty meetings when requested by After School Care Director or Principal
  4. Correctly dismiss children to their parents
  5. Develop an open nurturing relationship with students and their parents
  6. Maintain excellent discipline and student control
  7. Report to work as scheduled and on time
  8. Make each student feel special and respected
  9. Plan and oversee interesting and stimulating activities for children
  10. Be sure the facility is left clean and neat each day
  11. Other duties as assigned by the After School Care Director
