Basic Requirements: 

  • Hold a master’s degree (preferably in educational leadership).

  • Evidence of successful classroom teaching experience and/or administrative experience.

  • Evidence of strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem-solving and technological skills.

 

Spiritual Requirements:

  1. Demonstrate in speech, actions, and attitude a consistent walk with Jesus Christ as outlined in the GCS Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs regarding marriage, gender, and sexuality.
  2. Be available always to be used by the Holy Spirit for the spiritual encouragement of students or fellow teachers.
  3. Share the Christian faith with students.
  4. Read and study the Bible on a personal basis throughout the year.
  5. Be on time for and attend faculty devotions and chapels as scheduled.
  6. Be faithfully involved in a local church.

 

Professional Requirements:

Spiritual leadership-

  1. Promote a positive spiritual tone of leadership that reflects the preeminence of Christ.
  2. Support the Associate Head of School in developing the personal spiritual growth of GCS students and faculty.

 

Administrative leadership:

  1. Maintain a strong and welcoming leadership presence with students and faculty
  2. Oversee implementation of middle school handbook and recommended revisions annually
  3. Oversee low-level discipline of middle school students
  4. Coordinate supervision of fire, tornado and lockdown drills.
  5. Coordinate faculty duties
  6. Plan, oversee, or assist with student events

 

Instructional leadership-

  1. Act as direct supervisor of a portion of designated faculty, including growth and evaluation conversations as assigned
  2. Assist in hiring middle school faculty.
  3. Advise on master scheduling.
  4. Assist faculty with implementing effective classroom discipline and organization.
  5. Assist with the inventory and ordering of textbooks and other learning materials.
  6. Teach up to one class, if needed.

 

Student/Parent leadership-

  1. Communicate effectively with student/staff/parents to address and resolve any spiritual, academic, social or behavioral issues.
  2. Enforce guidelines to maintain proper discipline and conduct.
  3. Meet with students and parents as needed regarding disciplinary measures (ASD, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, expulsion).
  4. Maintain all student disciplinary records in the Renweb system.
  5. Track excessive absences and tardies and counsel with students and parents regarding attendance problems
