Dear GCS families,
I hope your summer has been a time of rest and relaxation. Our Administration and Plant and Grounds Team have been quite busy this summer as well. Between upfitting our new campus in Shelby, preparing our classrooms on the main campus, and repurposing some space in the Elementary and Middle/High School buildings, we have also done some outside projects.
Pickleball at GCS!! As we resurfaced our tennis courts this summer, it was suggested by Plant and Grounds Director Steve Matolka that we add two pickleball courts. Pickleball is gaining a lot of attention and we also wanted to invite you to use our two courts (#3 and #4) around our tennis teams schedules. I would love to organize a GCS Pickleball Club for parents and students from GCS. If you are interested, please send me an email expressing your interest.
Likewise, we just completed our 18-hole Disc Golf Course at GCS. Our course is in the wooded cross country course area behind the soccer field. Again, I would love to see someone organize a Disc Golf Club for students and parents of GCS. The pickleball and disc golf are free to GCS families. We ask that you not invite visitors from outside the GCS Family at this time.
Our mission statement is “Prepare People, Teach truth and Glorify God.” Hopefully, these two outdoor activities will further advance our mission to you and your family.
