GCS Family Cookout
Dear GCS families and friends,
We have now turned the final corner toward the successful completion of the 2020-21 school year. I am so very thankful for each of you who have prayed for our teachers, encouraged us with kind words and thoughtful notes, and affirmed our careful plans to have school in person five days per week.
In March of 2020 our worlds were turned upside down. Chaos was abounding and we were not sure what the future held for us. However, God in His goodness, helped us develop a plan that sought to display individual responsibility. You may remember, I said that once the Coronavirus had left us, we were going to have a picnic! From back in May 2020 here is a section from the letter we sent to all school families. While our celebration is about one year later than planned, we have been looking forward to this time of celebration! “Furthermore, we will have an end of the year party for every class. Again, it may not be until June or July, but, as soon as we are able, we will begin to make plans and let you know the details. I’m thinking a HUGE party that will be something like a fall festival/field day combined. We will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, barbecue and all the fixings for everyone. There will be games, inflatables and lots of fun activities. It needs to be something that everyone wants to be part of. We need to bring proper closure to this most unusual year.”
On May 20 we will have a ”fall festival” style day at the school for Middle and High School students, and family members. We will have hamburgers, hotdogs, barbecue, desserts, etc. There will be activities beginning at 3:00 and lasting until 6:00 PM. There will be no cost to anyone for anything. This is our way of saying a big “THANK YOU” for your love support and encouragement. And to say “WE MADE IT!!”
Likewise, we will have a similar celebration on May 21 for Early Childhood and Elementary students and their family members.
Please mark your calendar and join us in our celebration. Please use the form below to RSVP by May 14, 2021.
With much appreciation,
Dr. Marc Stout
