The Major William Chronicle Chapter is pleased to announce the DAR Good Citizens program winner is Katelyn Hoersch. Kate was selected and voted on by her teachers and classmates to represent Gaston Christian School at the county-level selection process. She was selected among candidates from eight high schools in our area. The candidates are judged on the following qualities: dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. They are students who have made a significant contribution to their community through volunteerism, academics, and activities. Each candidate was asked to submit an essay with a topic specific to our American heritage and our responsibility as an upstanding citizen.
Kate will be honored at a luncheon sponsored by the Major William Chronicle Chapter and will read her winning essay and receive a monetary award. Her essay will now be entered at the state-level competition. Congratulations, Kate!
