Chris Duhon to lead the GCS Basketball Program
Gaston Christian School is proud to announce the addition of Chris Duhon to our basketball program. Duhon brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our team, having played at the highest level of basketball for over a decade.
As a former NBA player, Duhon understands the dedication and hard work it takes to succeed at the highest level. He is excited to share his knowledge and help our student-athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Duhon’s bio:
Chris Duhon, a native of Slidell, LA has 15 years of progressive experience in basketball both as a professional player and a coach. He spent 9 years as a player in the National Basketball Association playing for the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks, the Orlando Magic, and the Los Angeles Lakers. He currently owns the record for most assists in a game with 22 assists for the New York Knicks.
After his playing career, Duhon turned to college coaching. He was an Assistant Coach at Marshall University and Illinois State University and the Director of Scouting and Video Analysis at Bryant University. A graduate of Duke University and a member of the 2001 National Championship Team, Duhon prides himself in being a lifetime learner of best practices in approaching the game of basketball. He founded and coached the Chris Duhon Basketball Camp in Slidell, LA for 10 years prior to college coaching and has spent 3 years in the AAU circuit. He loves the game and hopes that his experiences enable him to understand the game at a deeper level.
Through The Chris Duhon Stand Tall Foundation, he has created programs to increase access to recreation for middle school and high school students, funded scholarships for higher education for 25 Slidell natives, and fundraised to help causes including childhood obesity, educational equity, and recreational access.
Duhon is married to Andrea Duhon and has 5 children (Jeremy, Eliana, Christopher, Faith, and Miya).
