Basic Requirements:

Hold a master’s degree (preferably in educational leadership).

Evidence of successful classroom teaching experience and/or administrative experience.

Evidence of strong organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem-solving and technological skills.
Spiritual Requirements:
- Demonstrate in speech, actions, and attitude a consistent walk with Jesus Christ as outlined in the GCS Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs regarding marriage, gender, and sexuality.
- Be available always to be used by the Holy Spirit for the spiritual encouragement of students or fellow teachers.
- Share the Christian faith with students.
- Read and study the Bible on a personal basis throughout the year.
- Be on time for and attend faculty devotions and chapels as scheduled.
- Be faithfully involved in a local church.
Professional Requirements:
Spiritual leadership-
- Promote a positive spiritual tone of leadership that reflects the preeminence of Christ.
- Support the Associate Head of School in developing the personal spiritual growth of GCS students and faculty.
Administrative leadership:
- Maintain a strong and welcoming leadership presence with students and faculty
- Oversee implementation of middle school handbook and recommended revisions annually
- Oversee low-level discipline of middle school students
- Coordinate supervision of fire, tornado and lockdown drills.
- Coordinate faculty duties
- Plan, oversee, or assist with student events
Instructional leadership-
- Act as direct supervisor of a portion of designated faculty, including growth and evaluation conversations as assigned
- Assist in hiring middle school faculty.
- Advise on master scheduling.
- Assist faculty with implementing effective classroom discipline and organization.
- Assist with the inventory and ordering of textbooks and other learning materials.
- Teach up to one class, if needed.
Student/Parent leadership-
- Communicate effectively with student/staff/parents to address and resolve any spiritual, academic, social or behavioral issues.
- Enforce guidelines to maintain proper discipline and conduct.
- Meet with students and parents as needed regarding disciplinary measures (ASD, in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, expulsion).
- Maintain all student disciplinary records in the Renweb system.
- Track excessive absences and tardies and counsel with students and parents regarding attendance problems
