POST P SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO GASTON CHRISTIAN GRADS
Post P of the Travelers Protective Association of America recently presented its annual scholarship to Promise Alston and Nicholas Welfare, 2023 graduates of Gaston Christian School.
Promise and Nicholas were chosen to receive a $500 scholarship for their academic achievement, outstanding character, community service involvement, and exemplification of the three cardinal virtues of TPA – TRUTH, PATRIOTISM, AND ALTRUISM. Promise will be attending Gardner Webb University and Nicholas will attend North Carolina State University in the fall.
Travelers Protective Association of America promotes safety, with a special focus on child safety, and is widely known for its “WATCH THAT CHILD” and “MAKE SAFETY FIRST and MAKE IT LAST” ongoing campaigns as well as for its C.H.A.D. (Children Have an Identity) project. The stickers provide child identification and are used on carseats, bookbags, bike helmets, skateboards, etc. TPA is also a leader in providing a wide range of community service both locally and nationally.
TPA is a 133 year old fraternal, benefit organization that continues to grow both locally and nationally in its membership and and its many services.
