A Lesson on Biodegradable Technology
On Wednesday, January 22, Mrs. Cheryl Smyre made a presentation to high school students and staff about CICLO, revolutionary chemistry (patented by Parkdale Mills) which catalyzes the biodegradation of polyester and other synthetic materials.
At Parkdale Mills, Mrs. Smyre leads the Advanced Materials division, the focus of which is the creation of new fiber technologies with an emphasis on sustainable innovative solutions for the textile industry.
Mrs. Smyre’s son, Caleb, is a junior at a GCHS.
