2023 Scholastic Art Awards
The Gaston Christian School Fine Arts Department is excited to announce that five art students have received Honorable Mention recognition in the prestigious 2023 Scholastic Art Awards.
The art medium categories and students awarded are as follows:

In Drawing and Illustration, Katelyn Kuhn
In Digital Art, Makenzie Karr
In Mixed Media, Chloe Sorrell
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have an impressive legacy dating back to 1923. Over the years, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have grown to become the longest-running, most prestigious program for creative teens in the U.S. and the nation’s largest source of scholarships for young artists and writers. Last year, student entries in this contest totaled over 300,000 nationally.
