Hello GCS Community,

I wanted to let you all know about an exciting opportunity coming up for our school. During the month of January, we will have 5-7 student visitors from the beautiful country of Argentina. These students are from Buenos Aires and are attending a private, Catholic high school. This school begins teaching their students English at an early age, so the students are fluent in English and, of course, Spanish. While here, these students will be living with host families, attending classes each day, and learning more about our American high school and Christian culture. It is our hope that this cultural exchange will be a great learning experience and ministry opportunity for all of our domestic students, as well.

 

As stated above, these students will be arriving in NC on January, 4th and will begin classes at GCS on Monday, January 10th. The current plan is for them to remain with us Until February, 4th. While with us, these students will need to live with host families and we would love for those families to be a part of our school family! This is only a short-term experience so it would be a great time to see what hosting an international student is all about! While here, the host family would be responsible for housing, meals, and transportation to and from school and school activities. We are working to provide school lunches for the students each day so that it will not be the host’s responsibility. These students will need their own bed, and they can share a room with a host sibling of the same gender, if necessary. Host families will receive $300 to cover expenses while the students are here.

Please pray that they will feel welcomed, accepted, and cared for by our faculty and student body and that they will see the love of Jesus in all of us.
