Have you ever wondered what the early colonists of our nation endured to make this New World a success?  Mrs. Denham’s 6th-grade history classes are learning the difficulties of beginning a new life far from their homes.  The students will be creating their colony’s flags, establishing a working government, surveying the land around them, establishing relationships with local inhabitants, writing a newspaper editorial to send to their homeland, creating dwellings, and supplying samples of natural resources.  As they begin their new colonies, they are discovering the difficulties of working together as well as the hard work that went into making America great! Gallery
